I watched "The Rocket" on CBC this weekend. The movie is about the career(1942-1960) of Maurice "The Rocket" Richard. And the struggle the French Canadian players had in the league at the time.
Maurice Richard was one of the greatest players Les Canadiens(Habs) ever had. The team won 5 consecutive Stanley Cups across Richard's last five years with the team. Oh my God. I can't believe how fantastic the movie was. I don't buy movies so much any more, but I'm definitely going to buy this one!! It helped that my French Canadian boyfriend Roy Dupuis played the lead.
And now I want to see "Shake hands with the Devil" where he plays another Canadian - Lieutentant-General Roméo Dallaire during his time in Rwanda. Hmmmm. I wonder if the series "Les Filles de Caleb" is on DVD....or L'homme Ideal" or maybe "Being at home with Claude" (this one's about a gay murder)?!?
I think I need to watch "Jésus de Montréal" oh, and "Bon Cop, Bad Cop" again. Probably going to buy BCBC too. I love me my English/French roots sometimes! OuiYes!
I'm looking forward to digging out and/or making Hallowe'en icons and on the heels of them, my December icons. Man where the heck did the year go?!?
Only 87 days, 5 hours and 19 or so minutes left until the jolly fat man attempts to squeeze himself down countless chimneys.
I'm currently reading a book that's made quite a ripple through lj and has been made into a movie right now and can't quite wrap my head around it, but I'm determined to read through to the end....
I once read a Chinese Curse and didn't quite understand why it was considered a curse: "May you live in interesting times" I'd say 700 Billion is pretty interesting....
