There wasn't one around. But I have fairly vivid childhood memory surrounding the "Give-Dad-an-Ugly-Tie Day".
I came home with a wonky little clay ashtray (everyone in school had to make), without a dad to give it to.
It made me kind of both sad and confused at the same time but by the time I got home I knew what I would do.
I told my mom that she was the best dad in the world because she did everything for us both parents did.
I think she still might have that little ashtray. Happy Father's Day, mom.
