What exactly were the writers smoking during the strike?
They must have made some weird and warped pact to maim/blow up/kill off one main character in the season finale.
I'm afraid to watch any more series endings!

And now back to AI even though I know who won - thanks to lj-cut challenged people.

Why can't more people be as considerate as you!?!
I should be used to it by now - it seems more and more people are just throwing out season cliff-hanger endings and contest results faster than I can refresh my page. LOL Happily, the performances by all the finalists have been pretty good.

*nods* I've noticed that about this season's finales. It's getting a bit depressing...

I tell ya! It's almost getting to the point that I don't even have to turn the tv on. Just open LiveJournal and watch all the "LJ-CUT CHALLENGED" people 'share' it allllll with me. ::shakes head:: How you doin' K?

I'm doing fine. Job hunting again cause my current commute is killing me in the gas and drowning my sorrow in The Big Valley fanfiction till SGA season 5 starts up and people start writing SGA fic again. :)

How are you doing? And how's the fluffy bottomed pair?

Oh, I may be heading up to Vancouver around the 12th of July. Would you like to get together for lunch or dinner or coffee or something?

O.O YOU'RE COMING TO VANCOUVER!!!???!!! \o/ It's marked in my calendar.
I'd love to meet you. What's bringing you up across the border?

OMG. Big Valley Fic? That's awesome. How the heck did you find it?

Things here are fine. The fluffy pair is actually a trio. Dakota, Agatha (didn't name her, she came with it) and the kid; Pixel who terrorizes the old girls endlessly (that's him in the icon). We're a happy little family we are. :o)

How's your brood?

My family is planning a family get-together/vacation at an airshow in Arlington, Washington, and then we're wandering in general around the area. ;)

(And we've actually already met, shared a hotel room for 3 days, even. *snoodles you and leaves you to wonder*)

I grew up on Big Valley, and all those other delicious westerns from the 60s. :D And as is my wont when I can't get my fix in my current fandom, I go trolling in old ones. Last year it was Emergency and Combat. This year it's Big Valley. I've started a comm, btw. There's only one fic there so far, but lots of links to lot of other sites with BV fic. :)

*snoodles you more*

Not a second of wonder - I remember our sharing a 'hootch' in DC for that unforgettable weekend with the rest of "Bravo Company" (and a ghost). I'll never forget that weekend.
Hell, we nearly both went broke paying for the hotel bill, remember?

I meant that I would LOVE to meet up with you.
Lunch, dinner, coffee, whatever.

Is your whole family coming up to Vancouver or are you making a side trip on your own? Are you staying over or just making it a day trip? Tell me more.

I remember nearly going broke paying for the hotel bill very well. *sigh* But we had a great time all the same, didn't we. :D

Aha! Excellent, cause I would love to meet up with you while we're up there. It would most likely be two of my sister, their wee little bits, and myself. :) I'm not sure how long.

Oh, and my brood is smaller, but those that remain are grand. :) It's been raining here for a couple days, so they're all feeling snuggly.
May. 23rd, 2008 04:29 am (UTC)
Oh dear. How and when did the brood get smaller? ::pets::

Lost two to cars, and two to old age.

I've learned to really be careful reading LJ in general when there's something spoilery in TV/movie-land. Although it still can be challenging. *grin*

And I think the writers got together and said "OMG, we may have lost viewers because of the strike, and we're going to be out on our asses if we can't get them back so LET'S GET REALLY DRAMATIC!!!"

Only it didn't work so well because there was little to no build up to THE DRAMA. So it all went "pffffft".

The viewing audience has had to live with DVDs and libraries, and will return to them again en masse now, I'm sure.

LJ is indeed a challenge. Like tip toeing through a mind field. LOL

No pun intended but I think the writers went for overkill this year.
But you're right, we'll all be salivating by the time the season premieres air.
