My sweet neighbour that I house/cat sit for occasionally, dropped by out of the blue tonight for a short visit and told me she's having a double mastectomy on Monday.

She has Stage 3 breast cancer.

She was diagnosed in October. She's unbelievably calm. She's goine back to her place to bake a batch of praline shortbread cookies before she goes to bed. She's bringing me some tomorrow.

. . . Merry Christmas?

Oh man, I don't think I could be. Direct her to this website- the woman is local here and I do the website, but it's an excellent resource.

::hugs back::
She's home now recouperating. I'm going to visit her early next week. I want her to get her rest before I descend upon her with excessive good cheer (and Xmas goodies).
