Well it looks like I'll be spending my holidays [which were my intensions any-way] doing a massive cleaning.

TO MY HORROR and embarrassment!!!!!!! Dakota has fleas. I spotted two on her last night.
My poor little baby has fleas. WTF?!? She's an indoor cat!

This perplexes me. Squicks me out! Annoys the fuck out of me. And makes me feel like the horriblest mother pet owner on the planet!!!!!

Dakota is a really pretty eight year old long-hair Hymalain-cross. to me anyway
Dakota is afraid of her own shadow. but is getting better
Dakota is an indoor cat who's never set foot outside in her life. Except to be transported to the v.e.t. and that's always in a carrier
Dakota is only brave enough to scoot out into the hall when I open the apartment door. would there be fleas out there in the carpet?
Dakkota is constantly getting knots in her fur.she hates being combed. Oy.
Dakota hates being cuddled or petted. unless it's on her terms
Dakota is a feisty little hairball and jumps at every opportunity to bite and scratch until she draws blood. which I'm thinking there will be much of tonight when I apply flea killing stuff

Can someone tell me: WHERE THE HELL DID SHE GET THE FLEAS FROM!?!?!?!

Anybody have any tried and true methods of applying flea medicine / treating cats for fleas?

crashcat I'm lookin' at you girlie.

In a word, NO. I'd never buy a flea treatment from a pet store. I've just heard too many horror stories (ie, severe illnesses, sometimes fatal as a result of the chemicals). The only thing I trust is a product from the vet. But maybe BC is different? If you can find EXACTLY the same thing at the pet store that the vet sells, then I'd say okay. You may only find a 'flea & tick' combo thing, which would be okay... strictly fleas would be safer. But nothing more. How strict am I, eh? :) lol

I appreciate your 'stern' (or is that 'sturn'?) advice!!! I think you have a little bit!! more experience with cats than me. Your and chrismm's advice is golden.
